A Space is similar to a directory or folder in an operating system. It is a unit that contains other units and it can be manipulated as a whole or parts of it may be manipulated separately. Spaces may contain other spaces, without practical limit.
Security
From the access level, a space is the basic module of security. Both users and groups may have access to the contents of a space and the access is defined as one of 5 levels:
- Co-ordinator
- Collaborator
- Editor
- Contributor
- Consumer
Note that security is always applied whenever an attempt is made to access the repository. Even if a user attempts to directly access a link to a particular file, the user will be challenged for a valid username and password.
