The Challenge

A multinational retailer needed to select and contract an international payroll and workforce management provider across nine countries while preparing the programme for implementation within a tight delivery timeframe. The engagement required a consistent approach to vendor evaluation, commercial decision-making and implementation planning across multiple regions.

The organisation needed an experienced delivery partner to manage the procurement process, align stakeholders and establish the foundations for a successful international rollout.

Our Approach

We ran the RFP as a delivery mobilisation exercise, not just a procurement activity. Vendor scoring, Q&A, commercial review and operating model design were handled alongside the practical work needed to prepare nine-country implementation.

Incumbent contracts and transition requirements were reviewed with regional stakeholders. As provider selection progressed, the programme roadmap, governance, reporting and market kick-offs were prepared so delivery could start once the contract decision was made.

What We Delivered

The deliverables covered RFP scoring materials, vendor Q&A coordination, a shortlisted supplier recommendation, information security review and DPIA assessment. The client also received contract scope advice, an implementation plan, a resource model, programme governance, RAID reporting and support for kick-off activity.

The client had an agreed supplier route, a rollout sequence across nine countries and the controls needed to move from selection into delivery.

Outcomes and Impact

The client selected and contracted an international payroll and workforce management provider within three months, providing a clear route into programme delivery. The work established the rollout sequence across nine countries, mapped key interdependencies between markets and ensured the implementation programme was ready to begin on schedule.

By completing programme preparation before implementation commenced, the organisation entered the delivery phase with clear governance, defined responsibilities and an agreed roadmap for international rollout.
